Résumé : Ce travail présente les caractéristiques technotypologiques de l’industrie lithique de deux sites de plein air, associés à un banc de silex oligocène. Deux phases d’occupation sont présentes sur place. La première présente les caractéristiques de l’Épipaléolithique et se caractérise par la production de supports laminaires obtenus au percuteur de pierre tendre, à partir de nucléus mis en forme. La réalisation de préformes de nucléus pourraient également se rattacher à cette phase culturelle. La seconde période de fréquentation du site date du Mésolithique. Le débitage est orienté vers la production de supports lamellaires détachés au percuteur de pierre tendre, à partir de petits nucléus qui n’ont subi aucune mise en forme. Parallèlement à l’approche technologique de l’industrie, ce sont les comportements humains liés aux différentes modalités d’exploitation du banc de silex qui sont appréhendés.

Résumé : The impact of stratospheric ozone on the tropospheric general circulation of theSouthern Hemisphere (SH) is examined with a set of chemistry‐climate models participatingin the Stratospheric Processes and their Role in Climate (SPARC)/Chemistry‐ClimateModel Validation project phase 2 (CCMVal‐2). Model integrations of both the past andfuture climates reveal the crucial role of stratospheric ozone in driving SH circulationchange: stronger ozone depletion in late spring generally leads to greater polewarddisplacement and intensification of the tropospheric midlatitude jet, and greater expansion ofthe SH Hadley cell in the summer. These circulation changes are systematic as polewarddisplacement of the jet is typically accompanied by intensification of the jet and expansion ofthe Hadley cell. Overall results are compared with coupled models participating in theIntergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Fourth Assessment Report (IPCC AR4), andpossible mechanisms are discussed. While the tropospheric circulation response appearsquasi‐linearly related to stratospheric ozone changes, the quantitative response to a givenforcing varies considerably from one model to another. This scatter partly results fromdifferences in model climatology. It is shown that poleward intensification of the westerly jetis generally stronger in models whose climatological jet is biased toward lower latitudes.This result is discussed in the context of quasi‐geostrophic zonal mean dynamics.

Résumé : This paper addresses non-linear global gyrokinetic simulations of ion temperature gradient (ITG) driven turbulence with the Gysela code. The particularity of Gysela code is to use a semi-Lagrangian (SL) scheme for the full distribution function. The 4D non-linear drift-kinetic version of the code already shows the interest in such a SL method which exhibits good properties of energy conservation. The code has been upgrated to run 5D toroidal simulations. Linear benchmarks and non-linear results are presented.

Résumé : Hantaviruses belong to the Bunyaviridae family. While usually hosted by wild mammals, they are potentially pathogenic for humans, and several serologically distinct groups associated with different syndromes have been identified. Yet, investigations have mostly been conducted where human infections by hantaviruses constitute a real and well-identified public health problem, i.e., the holarctic and neotropical areas. Some hantaviruses have also been described from a Suncus murinus in India and a Bandicota indica in Thailand. In addition, recent investigations in Cambodia revealed new Hantavirus types. More recently, two new Hantavirus species were described: Sangassou from a Hylomyscus simus, and Tanganya from a Crocidura theresae, both from Africa (Guinea), thus strongly questioning the current views about geographic range, evolution, and epidemiology of hantaviruses. In such a framework, we have conducted a survey of Hantavirus diversity in Southeast Asia which allows us to isolate the Thailand virus and address questions about the taxonomy of their rodent hosts. Here we present a molecular analysis of representatives of all currently known Hantavirus species, thus allowing the comparison between the newly described ones with a large range sample of rodent hantaviruses. Our results clearly point to the presence of a particular lineage of hantaviruses in Southeast Asia. It also strongly suggests that new viruses, additional mammalian hosts and different related syndromes in humans are likely to be discovered in the near future, particularly in Southeast Asia and in Africa, where Muridae rodents are highly diversified. Furthermore, additional work is also urgently needed to investigate the hantaviruses associated with Crociduridae and Soricidae.
