Résumé : Classical views for the deposition of organic-rich sediments in deep-sea environments invoke two principal types of oceanographic and sedimentologic settings. The first is confined basins in which stratified oxygen depleted waters lead to anoxic preservation of organic matter in the water column and in underlying sediments (Demaison and Moore, 1980). The second is an open ocean setting where the episodic mass transfers due to slope sediment instability lead to the rapid burial of outer-shelf and upper slope-derived organic matter and its consequent preservation due to limited oxic or anoxic degradation (Stow, 1987). Other studies have shown, however, that organic matter in modern deep-sea sediments may occur in high amounts where oxygen is not significantly depleted (Pedersen and Calvert, 1990). Recent studies have demonstrated that highly biological productive areas, such as the upwelling zones associated to the Benguela Current in S-E Atlantic, may deliver sufficient quantity of organic material to (1) outbalance the degradative capacity of the water column and (2) sustain the formation of organic-rich sediments even in deep and oxygenated conditions (Bertrand et al., 2003). It appears that the S-E Atlantic margins provide a good example for revisiting the sedimentology of organic matter in deep water environments in the frame of the GDR Marges Continentales. This may have important implications for a better understanding of the distribution of ancient source rocks in deep offshore petroleum systems (Huc et al., 2001; Bertrand et al., 2003).

Résumé : The influence of three spatially hierarchical factors upon soil macrofauna biodiversity was studied in four pasture plots in eastern Amazonia. The first factor was the local depth of the soil. The second factor was the ground cover type on the soil samples (bare ground, grass tufts, dead trees lying on the ground). The third factor was the dimensions of the grass tufts sampled (size and shape). The effect of each factor upon the morphospecies richness and density of total soil macrofauna was analysed. Detailed results are given for earthworms, termites, ants, beetles and spiders. All factors significantly affected the morphospecies richness and/or density of the soil macrofauna. The type of ground cover had the strongest influence, affecting the total richness and density of the soil macrofauna and of almost all the groups represented. The soil depth affected only the density of the termites and the global morphospecies richness. Interactions between soil depth and ground cover type affected the total macrofauna morphospecies richness and the density of the earthworms. The dimensions of the grass tuft influenced the global morphospecies richness, the morphospecies richness of the ants and the density of the spiders

Résumé : L`importance des impacts de cervidés (Capreolus capreolus, Cervus elaphus) en forêt a été évaluée, durant l`hiver 1999/2000, sur 5 départements de notre territoire (Landes, Oise, Sarthe, Tarn et Vosges). Parallèlement une étude du fonctionnement du plan de chasse a été conduite. Les dégâts revêtent un caractère préoccupant dans l`Oise et les Vosges. Un certain nombre de facteurs jouent un rôle majeur dans l`acuité des phénomènes observés : l`importance des populations de cervidés, l`origine des peuplements forestiers et la nature des essences forestières. Une méthode originale a permis de prédire l`avenir sylvicole des peuplements endommagés par les dégâts.

Résumé : Tourist sites in natural areas constitute a remarkable subjet of study for better understanding the way in which the local area or territory participates in the production of a localised cultural system (LCS). Indeed, while the economic function of such sites consists in producing weath for the entrepreneurs proposing multiple services to the tourists present ont he sites, it seems simplistic to consider a touriste destination as being no more than a simple aggregation of actors. The existence of ties with the territory that can be qualified locally points to the presence of a cultural process that plays an important role in the creation of resources that are essential to the efficient operation of such a system. Drawing on several examples of sports and tourist sites in the French Alps, we show how this localised cultural system in built up and how it takes shape. The study of the forms of development st up by the different service providers and of the sports culture of the tourists provides valuable insights into the make-up and practical organisation of these cultural resources in an outdoor recreational site.

Résumé : This document presents our very first results on a part of the program: "A study of the Be phenomenon in young open Galactic and Magellanic clusters". It concerns the B stars population in the LMC NGC2004 cluster and its surrounding field observed with the VLT/FLAMES instrumentation with the GIRAFFE spectrograph, at low resolution, in MEDUSA mode. First observational results which concern the ratio $\frac{Be}{B+Be}$ , the nebulosities in the field and the discovery of spectrocopic binaries are presented.
